Job Description
Senior System Engineer is a seasoned professional responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure and systems
Responsibilities:
- System Architecture:
- Design and plan the organization's system architecture to meet business needs and scalability requirements.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of servers, networks, storage, and other critical infrastructure components.
- Deployment and Automation:
- Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline system deployment, configuration, and maintenance processes.
- Security Management:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's systems and data, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Disaster Recovery Planning:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss in case of system failures.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and IT support, to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
- Patch Management:
- Implement and manage the deployment of patches and updates to ensure system security and stability.
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to system architecture, configurations, and procedures.
- Capacity Planning:
- Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future hardware and software requirements based on business growth and technological advancements.
- Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex system issues, working to resolve them in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior System Engineer with a strong background in system design, implementation, and management.
- In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix) and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to guide and mentor junior team members.
