What are we looking for?

As a Volunteer Coding Camp Instructor, you will play a key role in delivering our coding camps to young learners. This hands-on position involves assisting with the planning, preparation, and facilitation of coding activities and projects. You will work closely with our experienced instructors to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in planning and organizing coding camp curriculum and activities.
• Support lead instructors in delivering lessons and guiding students through coding projects.
• Provide one-on-one assistance and mentoring to camp participants as needed.
• Help set up and maintain coding equipment and software.
• Supervise students during camp sessions and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with other team members to continuously improve camp content and delivery methods.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and parent communication.

Required Skills

• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Education, STEM).
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Scratch, Python, Robotics, HTML, CSS or JavaScript.
• Passion for coding education and working with children and teenagers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Previous experience working with youth or teaching experience is a plus.
• Available to commit to the duration of the coding camps (dates may vary).
